Dear ALCTS colleagues,
Please see below and attached for an invitation to comment on a draft ALA
Council resolution regarding gun violence. I encourage you to send feedback
via the links provided below so the resolution authors will have the fullest
possible understanding of how gun violence is relevant for libraries and
library workers, and what message from ALA would be most effective and true
to the association?s mission and values.

 Dear ALA Community,

A resolution about the subject of gun violence was passed at the Membership
Meeting at ALA Orlando 2016. In accordance with ALA procedures, when the
resolution came to ALA Council, they directed the Committee on Legislation
and the Intellectual Freedom Committee to establish a working group to
continue to work on the resolution.

We are inviting all ALA members to provide the working group with feedback
on a discussion draft of the resolution. This document is attached. It is by
no means final and the working group will consider comments as they continue
their work.
