On Behalf Of Allison Yanos Calling all Internship Supervisors and Interns:

Have you been part of a successful cataloging and/or metadata internship
experience? The ALCTS CaMMS Competencies and Education for a Career in
Cataloging Interest Group seeks speakers to present at its session during
the 2017 ALA Midwinter Meeting in Atlanta on Friday, January 20, 2017,
1:00-2:30 pm.

We are interested in the keys to effective internships in preparing future
cataloging and metadata professionals, and we would like you to share your
strategies and best practices with us. Our interest group discusses the
current state of education and employment in cataloging and explores the
relationship of cataloging practitioners and employers with library
educators.

Presentations (not including time for questions and answers) should last no
longer than 20 minutes.

Please submit a presentation proposal to Susan Rathbun-Grubb
([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) and Allison Yanos

Ga. Part of the extensive Midwinter programming from ALCTS, this symposium
examines the critical roles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in today?s
libraries.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion are important concepts for libraries and
librarians as the nation?s population becomes more diverse, inclusiveness
more essential, and access to information critical. Nowhere in the library
are these concepts so pressing as in library collections. The ability of
libraries to represent a more diverse clientele, provide the equity of
access needed to their collections, and include all is tantamount.
