Presenter 1: Lia Contursi Head of Cataloging Arthur W. Diamond Law Library Columbia University Topic: Lia will discuss best practices for the application of law genre/form terms, and examples of problematic terms vis-à-vis past practices for the application of Library of Congress Subject Headings. She will also provide an overview of the method employed by the Classification and Subject Analysis Working Group of the American Association of Law Libraries for the project of retrospective implementation of law genre/forms. Presenter 2: Casey Mullin Head of Cataloging and Metadata Services Western Washington University Topic: Casey will give a report on the state of faceted vocabulary implementation in the music cataloging community. The MLA best practice documents for both LCMPT and LCGFT will be summarized, as will the efforts to retrospectively generate faceted terms from legacy LCSH music headings and coded MARC data.
