I've suffered through this as well. In my case, it was a shit version of
CompuServe7 w/ a borked early version of Moz. In my case, this browser,
and some others will post 0 bytes if you try and disable the submit
button with javavscript (to prevent double clicks), then call
form.submit (), and only under SSL.

I like to disable the submit button in the forms onSubmit section.  That always seemed to work.  Disable the trigger in the trigger handle.  Similar setting your signal handler to ignore the signal if it comes in while your're already in the haldler.
