Hi all I only saw this post now, so maybe what I am about to say has already been said:
The <!--> sequence of characters are used in commenting out code in xml and html: <xml> <tag 1>data</tag 1> <!--tag 2>data gain</tag 2--> </xml> So, maybe there is something commented out in the input?
