I had a bit of time over lunch to finish up a blog about the status of Catalyst
development:

Also, we released the third development distribution leading to the next stable
Catalyst release. This release includes stuff like native JSON parsing, PSGI
middleware awareness and a ton of fixes aimed at future-proofing the
distribution, so you really should take a look and kick the tires.
