Hi Again!
Your prayers, e-mails and phone calls have truly lifted me up this
week. Thank you!
I spoke with Rob's Mom this afternoon. Chuck is holding his
own. They tried to remove the ventilator tube, but Chuck could not
breathe on his own for an hour, so it is back in. They will try
again on Sunday, if he can breathe on his own for an hour, it will
come out. When it comes out, there is also a tube running down his
nose which was used to pump out "old blood" from his abdomen
(internal bleeding). This tube can't be removed until ventilator
tube is removed. Due to the dryness of both throat and mouth, they
are sedating him to keep him from tugging at al the gizmo's attached to him.
He still has some fluid in the lungs, but is doing much better; still
has antibiotics being delivered via IV to combat infections and
pneumonia. But, at least he is not losing ground. This, at least to
me, is a very positive sign.
Rob is still in France. Not quite sure when he will fly "home". So,
that's a wait and see issue. Cris flew from Orlando to Houston this
morning. Donna and Carolyn drove from Dallas to Houston this am
also. Houston house still without power until Monday, they
hope. Carolyn's school is on a day by day e-mail alert to ascertain
what day school will start up again.
I keep hearing in my mind, Paul's words in Philippines: "I count it
all joy." It's become my mantra this week. Joy for the friendships
I have; Joy for the prayers I know are being prayed on our families'
behalf, Joy in knowing God's in control.

Lord, may everything we do begin with Your inspiration and continue
with Your help,
so that all our prayers and works may begin in You and by You be happily ended.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
