Dear Prayer Partners,
I am sending you the latest update on Ben. It has now been over a
year since his accident. When I went on his site tonight, there were
new pictures of him showing more progress, it is very nice to see.
Thank you so much for all the prayers, I know you are praying for
him, so no need to e-mail me to let me know. God Bless all of you,
and keep you in his care. I am praying for you everyday.
Blessings,
Fran

Hello Friends,
Sorry for the delayed update. Last week was a tough one to get
through. It's been a year, actually a little over a year since we've
heard Ben's voice. I still can't bring myself to watch a video or
listen to a tape of Ben. I can't say that it doesn't hurt, it does
immensely. But we are so thankful that we have our family together.
Many nights I sat down to type to you all, but the words just didn't
flow. Tuesday Nick came home from school with a migraine. He didn't
need to talk, we knew what was bothering him. It was hard for all of
us. For some reason, Wednesday was the worst. I couldn't leave Ben's
side. It was one of those nights where I curled up beside him and
thanked God that he was still with us. Some sad, some happy tears. As
Jim said, the date on the calendar is just a number and we're lucky
that he's with us. The rest of the week slowly got better.
On Friday night we were lucky to have some of Ben's special friends
over for a bonfire. They all got the last swim in! It was a great way
to end the week. I forgot pictures though - what was I thinking!
Thanks to my wonderful husband, I believe that we may be getting
Ben's therapy back! That Jim is a fighter and won't give up until he
get's what he wants and we wanted that therapy for Ben. Keep your
fingers crossed!
Ben has been suffering with a staff infection yet. It's been about 6
weeks and we're still trying to find the right med. Hopefully this
last batch will work. He's also had a cold. We're careful as to where
we take him and just want him healthy. I know cold and flu season
will be upon us. I feel like the overly protective mom again!
In the new picture, Ben is shown with his Wolverine football helmet
and ball signed by his team mates. We took the picture to wish all of
the Wolverine players good luck. If any of you are around this
Thursday, there will be a special 8th grade game at Southwest High
school at 6:00 ish. They are making Ben the honorary captain of the
game. We are bringing Ben to go out onto the field at the beginning
of the game for the coin toss and are excited to watch the game with
him. This organization is very special to us. Nick played for 4 years
and Ben for 2, with Dad coaching for 6 years. We've always thought
very highly of the Wolverine program and can't wait to see everyone
again. Thanks guys - I'll definitely have my camera!!
Can't wait to share new pictures and updates (Ben keeps progressing
in therapy).
Hugs,
Kim

Lord, may everything we do begin with Your inspiration and continue
with Your help,
so that all our prayers and works may begin in You and by You be happily ended.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
