Please pray for my friend's son, Blake. He is a Senior in High School he loves playing football. He is such a strong Christian for such a young man. Join me in praying that even through this setback, Blake is a witness for our LORD. Cindi <*}}}>< <*}}}>< Hey everyone,
We went for the MRI today. They told us it would be tomorrow before they could get back to us, but the doctor called me a little while ago and said that the results are in and that Blake does have two torn meniscus in his right knee. It is the outer one and the inner one. He said that the tears will have to be surgically repaired and that Blake should not wait too long to do it b/c the tears are allowing his cartilage to be rubbed, and that will cause him to have arthritis in the future. Anyway, he said that Blake can continue to play football for as long as he can stand the pain. He told me to give him four Advil three times a day or two Aleve twice a day. So, basically, the ball is in Blake's court. They told me to come by the office tomorrow and get a sleeve to put over his knee and that may offer some support during practice and games, but there is not a brace that will help his problem. He said that Blake's knee is stable or he would not allow him to play at all. Please just continue to pray for Blake. I know how desperately he wants to finish out this season, but I do not want him to do any further damage to his knee either, so please pray that if the pain gets to be too much that he will step back and say I can't go anymore. His coach said he is definitely not a quitter and that he knows how much Blake wants to play, but Scott and I know that he would never push Blake to go any further than he can...he is not even having him dress out this afternoon so that he can rest his knee a little. Anyway, please just continue to pray for him. Thanks so much!
