The Baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan

Reading
“Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the
Jordan to be baptized by him. John tried to
prevent him, saying, ‘I need to be baptized by
you, and yet you are coming to me?’ Jesus said to
him in reply, ‘Allow it now, for thus it is
fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.’
After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the
water and behold, the heavens were opened, and he
saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove
coming upon him. And a voice came from the
heavens, saying, ‘This is my beloved Son, with
whom I am well pleased.’” (Matthew 3: 13-17)

Prayer
Lord Jesus, when you heard the Father call you
His “Beloved Son” at your Baptism in the Jordan,
you thought of every person throughout all of
history who is made in the image and likeness of
God. Grant the conversion of all who have marred
that image of God imprinted on their souls and
make them see the truth of the Father’s eternal
love for them. Bring them out of the culture of
death and make their conversions be a light to
draw many others away from the kingdom of darkness.

The Self-Manifestation of Jesus at the Wedding at Cana

Reading
“There was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the
mother of Jesus was there. Jesus was also invited
to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the
mother of Jesus said to him: ‘They have no wine.’
Jesus said to her: ‘Woman, how does your concern
affect me? My hour has not yet come.’ His mother
said to the servers: ‘Do whatever he tells you.’
Jesus told them: ‘Fill the jars with water, draw
some out now and take it to the headwaiter,’ So
and when the headwaiter tasted the water that had
become wine, he called the bridegroom and said to
him: ‘You have kept the good wine until now.’
Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in
Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory." (John 2: 1-11)

Prayer
Dearest Lord Jesus, grant your grace of purity of
heart to all married couples. Help them to
recognize the dignity of the married state and
the mission that they are given to be co-creators
with you in the begetting and raising of
children. Grant also conversion of heart to all
who use or promote contraception and so block
your divine plan of love for married life. Help
them all to accept your gift of life with generosity of heart.

The Proclamation of the Kingdom and the Call to Conversion

Reading
“Jesus came to Nazareth and went into the
synagogue. He stood up to read and was handed a
scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He found the
passage where it was written: ‘The Spirit of the
Lord is upon me. Because he has anointed me to
bring glad tidings to the poor, to proclaim
liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the
blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to
proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.’ He said
to them: ‘Today this scripture passage is
fulfilled in your hearing.’ And all spoke highly
of him and were amazed at the gracious words that
came from his mouth.” (Luke 4:16-22)

Prayer
Dear Jesus, your love is a saving love that
invites all men to renounce sin and accept the
grace of salvation. Bring to conversion all those
who perform abortions or promote the works of
death and so continue to reject your Father’s
love. May they hear the prophetic call of the
pro-life movement and open their hearts to the
message of truth about the sanctity of human life.

The Transfiguration

Reading
“Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them
up a high mountain and was transfigured before
them. Then Elijah appeared to them along with
Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. Then
Peter said to Jesus: ‘It is good that we are
here. Let us make three tents: one for you, one
for Moses, and one for Elijah.’ Then a cloud
came, casting a shadow over them; then from the
cloud came a voice, ‘This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.’” (Mark 9:2-7)

Prayer
Lord Jesus, your holy apostles saw your humanity
transformed into glory on Mount Tabor before you
suffered for our sins. Please accept our prayers
and sufferings for the conversion of those who
promote the killing of innocent children through
abortion. May their weaknesses and sinful lives
be transformed into examples of holiness and goodness for others.

The Institution of the Eucharist

Reading
“When the day for sacrificing the Passover lamb
arrived Jesus said to them, ‘I have eagerly
desired to eat this Passover with you before I
suffer.’ Then he took the bread, said the
blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying,
‘This is my body, which will be given for you.’
And likewise the cup saying, ‘This cup is the new
covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.’” (Luke 22: 7, 15, 19-20)

Prayer
Dearest Lord Jesus, to the Church you entrusted
the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist as
the font of salvation for the whole world. May
your Church offer generous and constant prayers
in the Eucharist for the conversion of all
ministers of death and one day see them share the
eternal banquet of heaven with us and with the
children whose lives they have cut short through the sin of abortion.
