Parish stunned by sacrilege act

The Monstrance, which contained the Host, was taken from St Peter's Church, Warrenpoint at lunchtime on Tuesday. Very Reverend Canon John Kearney said that although the artefact was valuable, it was "the sacrilege" which had upset his congregation. "It has caused, certainly, a palpable sense of shock and sadness in the community," he said.
