Please pray for my son, Chris Parnell Back surgery scheduled for Thursday November 13, 2008
Diagnosis: Massive Herniated Disc at L3 Surgery will last 8 hours The Dr. said he has fragments of bone in the spinal fluid at the L3 where the massive herniated disc is located. They will have to go in at the L3, drain the spinal fluid, remove the bone fragments, replace the fluid and reconstruct the area so that they can put screws and fuse L2 through L4 together. This accident occurred over 2 years ago and has been tied up with delays by Workman's Comp. The surgeon from Emory Hospital is now concerned that due to the length of time since this accident and the lack of proper blood flow into the right leg. There may be nerve damage and there is a possibility that Chris could loose his leg. Chris will be face down for two days and therefore also on a ventilator. He will be moved to a room on the third day and total hospital stay should be only six days. Total recovery could take up to 1 year.
