Thought I would sneak you in an update early tonight so you can share
the news with everyone.

Cedes struggled all night with detox symptoms. She tossed and turned
and slept about an hour. This morning she was still wild but is able
to talk but she is very mixed up. Her voice is stronger, more like a
whisper rather than horse and hurts. She is drinking from a cup with
a straw. She did answer some questions correctly, "Who do you love
the most in the whole wide world?" And also whispered, "let's get out
of here, come on let's go right now." "get me my sweatshirt". We have
to strain to hear. She also smiled for Uncle Joe and Aunt Jane and
that brought a few tears. So we feel better with brain activity but
has not been officially tested. That will be coming soon.

Cedes did have intermittent dialysis today because her creatin was
back up to 4.5 so her kidneys still aren't working. Let's keep
singing for Cedes on that one, we really, really want those kidneys
to start working again, soon! She also spiked a temperature an
afternoon temperature of 105 so they are doing cultures again to
isolate infection. Tylenol is bringing it down but this happens everyday.

Doctor Crow warns us that detox could take another 3 days and she
will remember none of it. The narcotics that cause this are good
drugs when needed so the patient does not remember any of the trauma
but awful drugs to ween your body from. But then again, Cedes will
not remember any of this. She encourages us to get away, the nurses
will take over.

She has surgery again on her leg tomorrow. We always keep our fingers
crossed on that one. They still have not been able to close wounds
and has 10 inch incisions on both sides of her right leg. They are
still concerned about dusky muscles there. Her toes are much better
but still have black on some of them.

So again, we are stepping forward!

Sure wished we could be at the feather party in Wesley, tonight. But
it just isn't the same without Steve Doughan calling the numbers. I
hope that Richard will win a turkey for us!!!

Thanks again everyone for the kind words and prayers; keep them coming.

Cedes' mom
