Last <http://www.mariedenazareth.com/1063.0.html?&L=1>Judgment

As we can see from the portals of many churches
or cathedrals (Notre Dame of Paris for example),
statuary and iconography of the Last Judgement always include the Virgin Mary.

Mother of the Redeemer and Mother of the redeemed

How could she who is both the Mother of the
Church and Mother of all love and mercy, not be
present at that decisive time of the final fate
of her children? Isn't Mary not only the Mother
of the Redeemer but at the same time the Mother
of the redeemed, the very people whom Jesus
entrusted to her universal motherly care when,
from the Cross at Calvary, he gave John the
disciple to her as a son? In this case, Saint
Anselm remarked, Mary is as much “Mother of the
Judge” as “Mother of the guilty.”

Mary is the Queen of purgatory

Let us remember that Mary is the Queen of
purgatory. This means that after death, a man, a
sinner, is not handed over solely to divine
justice, but also to the compassion of the heart
of a Mother who pleads for sinners…And a mother
never gives up until she has tried all means with
the Lord to save her children. God in his
goodness has willed that: in our earthly life and
at the time of eternal judgement, she who has the
most power over his heart accompanies us with her
tender and maternal presence so that all can
attain salvation. Hence, the Virgin Mary is just
as powerfully associated by God to his redemptive
plan of salvation that she was associated to the mystery of the Incarnation…

Prayer for Unborn Life:
O GOD OF LIFE AND LOVE, You have given us the
gift to participate with You to bring new life
into the world. But, all too often, the mother's
womb, which should be a nursery of life, becomes
instead a place of it's destruction.

Help us to remove this evil and ensure respect
for all life made in Your image and likeness,
called to fulfill its promise on this earth,
and destined to find a home with you for all eternity.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Our God, Our Savior, and Our ALL.
Amen.
