This message is from a good friend who needs urgent prayers for her granddaughter, Heather. Thanks in advance.
Dear AJ, I am beside myself with worry about my granddaughter, Heather. Heather is in Spain, as she signed up for an exchange program where she teaches English to the children of a host family for food and board. Last week she contracted a rare bacterial infection that first invaded her throat and then her lungs. She was admitted to the hospital there in Madrid when she began vomiting blood. She subsequently developed pneumonia. They first gave her an antibiotic which she was allergic to and then another which did take effect...she was also put her on a respirator and when her kidneys began to fail, they put her on dialysis, with the addition of a blood transfusion. They are doing all they can for her, so Heather is holding her own now. She is 27 years old. Her mother flew there from California to be at her side, as the doctors feel her condition could easily worsen. Please remember her in your prayers and include her in your pray circle. I will let you know how she is doing when I hear of any changes. Thank you.
