<http://www.mariedenazareth.com/848.0.html?&L=1>Mary and Our Salvation St Louis of Montfort states that the Virgin Mary is, "the shortest way to go to her Son" and the sweetest one too...because Mary is the Mother of mothers, our Mother. And who better than the mother knows the heart of her son? Who better than the mother knows the heart of man, of any man? Mary is more than a model and guide to imitate: she is also a mother full of tenderness, "she serves whoever serves her"... Our salvation is to know the Christ, the "only mediator between God and men"(1), the Redeemer of men. Going through Mary to Jesus is the easiest way to follow the path of Jesus Christ. Pope John Paul II (whose personal motto is the same as St Louis of Montfort's, the famous "Totus Tuus") has shown during the Jubilee year (the year 2000) the importance of this Marian way of salvation by consecrating the world of the third millenium entirely to the loving care of the Holy Mother of God and men, on December 8th, 2000... "Look at the star", said the great Marian Doctor, St Bernard of Clairvaux, while comparing the Virgin to the star that guides us on the way to salvation; a privileged way, as St Bernard put it, since she is more than a model and guide to imitate: she is also a mother full of tenderness, "she serves whoever serves her"... Mary reigns over Purgatory... She is there at the each of our personal judgments Moreover, at the last hour, Mary is there. She will be there at the final judgment, for she reigns over Purgatory, as St Bernardine of Siena reminds us... She is there at the each of our personal judgments: St Bridget, who received Mary's confidences during intimate conversations, revealed how her son Charles, at the time of his death, was assisted by the Blessed Virgin, who also prevented the devil to tempt him... Mary is stronger than all the infernal forces, even unchained, "she is stronger than an army arrayed for battle", because she is all-powerful over the Heart of God Himself! That is why, in all circumstances, we shouldn't hesitate to act with Mary: she is our most irresistible advocate over the Heart of her Son. St Augustin affirms that: "She is able to help us save our soul more than all the Saints."
