The gay community is relentless in it's quest to
force Connecticut (and other states) to publicly
accept and legitimize perverted
sexual practices, and those who perform such
practices. These groups want to be accepted not
as human beings, (which they are already
accepted), but as sexual beings. In fact some
state legislators want to provide them with a
special status as a protected class (like an
endangered species), thus making them super citizens.

These people are on a fervent mission. Though
they’re a minority, they’re well organized
and well funded. It’s this kind of organized
effort that is reducing the majority to such a
degree that we’re becoming a nation ruled by
minorities. They’re trying to impose a change
of moral and cultural values upon our society.

They’ve infiltrated and infested our public
school system promoting their agenda to address and influence our children.

Yesterday it was Civil Unions, today it’s Gay
Marriage, tomorrow it’ll be in your face
transgender equality, and what will it be the
next day? Equality for those who want to
practice sexual relations between adults and
children? They’re opening up a Pandora’s Box When does it stop?

This assault will not end at any point, with each
victory comes more confidence and a desire to
“push the envelope† further. Unless we can
stop this bill and the activity it intends to
impose on us; like the Biblical Lot, we will have
to leave the area to protect our children and grandchildren.

News: Marriage Codification and Transgender
equality bills released in the State of Connecticut

Posted on February 13, 2009 by adwrichtravel

Yesterday, the Connecticut legislature released
the language of the two bills that will be the
priorities for
<http://www.lmfct.org/site/R?i=FJkR_REcUQRBQ4bPeUNNjw..>Love
Makes a Family this legislative session.

Marriage Codification Bill

<http://www.lmfct.org/site/R?i=p6OJdXfAupDYw6gfVOiHlg..>SB899:
An Act Concerning the Guarantee of Equal
Protections under the Constitution of the State for Same-Sex Couples

This bill codifies the Connecticut Supreme Court
marriage equality ruling in the Kerrigan case
into state statute. It also clarifies areas that
the court did not address, such as the status of
civil unions now that marriage is legal. Under
this bill, civil unions will merge into marriages
on October 1, 2010. Couples in civil unions can
get married at any time, but unless they dissolve
or annul their civil union before October 1,
2010, the state will recognize them as married.
The date of their marriage will reflect the date
of their earlier civil union.

Gender Identity and Expression Bill

<http://www.lmfct.org/site/R?i=OVFM8yYajzU6Mpxw7ggQMA..>HB6452:
An Act Concerning Discrimination

This bill prohibits discrimination against
transgender people in areas such as employment,
housing, credit and public accommodations.
<http://www.lmfct.org/site/R?i=qdfNtGVwgFq2zr4ZhqV6Fg..>Read the bill here

If the gender identity and expression bill passes
this year, Connecticut will be the only state in
the country to have passed all major protections for LGBT citizens!

Once the bills have public hearing dates
scheduled, we will be asking YOU to contact your
state legislators and ask for their support. Stay tuned!

Puts The "T" Back in "LGBT" (New Haven Independent)
Now that they've brought same-sex marriage to
Connecticut, advocates took on a new mission to a
downtown town hall meeting: protecting
transgender civil rights. Three dozen people
attended the meeting Saturday in the main library
branch's community room, sponsored by Love Makes
a Family (LMF), the organization that's been
working for a decade for gay rights in Connecticut.

Nevertheless, other bills will still be proposed,
debated, and certainly passed during the several
months that the Connecticut legislature is in
session. Advocates for a transgender
anti-discrimination bill believe this is finally
the year for passage of such a bill.

According to
<http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-genderid0106.artjan06,0,6610059.story?track=rss>this

morning's Courant:

Transgender activists believe this is the year
they will gain equal protection under the state's anti-discrimination laws.

"We feel good," said Jerimarie Liesegang, who
leads the Connecticut TransAdvocacy Coalition.
"We've done the groundwork, we've done the
education and we know we have the votes."

A proposal, to be introduced in the legislative
session that begins Wednesday, would prevent
people who in any way blur gender lines from
being discriminated against in the workplace or
while seeking housing or obtaining credit. More
than a dozen states, including California,
Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Oregon and Rhode
Island, have enacted similar laws.

Bills that bar discrimination based on gender
identity or expression have come up several times
over the past few years, but failed to win
passage. In 2007, both the judiciary committee
and the Senate approved such a bill, but it died
in the House of Representatives.

I've previously discussed this proposal in
various posts here. Although same-sex marriages
were legalized last year by the Connecticut
Supreme Court, the legislature didn't pass the
concept earlier. Thus, I think the
transgender/gender identity bill still faces some
more hurdles because the concept remains foreign
to many people. (You can educate yourself with
some useful materials from the Connecticut
TransAdvocacy Coalition) Some raise issues of who
gets to use the restroom in the workplace (and
when), but these probably can be worked out if
people spent some time addressing it.

Because the bill died in the House of
Representative last year and with the legislative
facing huge issues of how to fix the budget, I
have a tough time believing that legislative
leaders will want to use political capital
pushing this bill, no matter how noble they
believe the cause is. The votes may be there, but the energy may not.

For employers in Connecticut that have an gender
identity-related issue arise in their employment,
seek some legal counsel. Just because it may not
be illegal to discriminate, doesn't mean the
employer can't work out a sensible solution to
some issues (or that other legal issues may not
be implicated). Indeed, some employers in
Connecticut have their own anti-discrimination
pledges that cover gender identity as a protected
class. (Like an endangered species)

Connecticut To Consider Transgender
Anti-Discrimination Proposal (Hartford Courant)
Tuesday, January 6, 2009
By: Daniela Altimari

Transgender activists believe this is the year
they will gain equal protection under the state's
anti-discrimination laws. "We feel good," said
Jerimarie Liesegang, who leads the Connecticut
TransAdvocacy Coalition. "We've done the
groundwork, we've done the education and we know we have the votes."
A proposal, to be introduced in the legislative
session that begins Wednesday, would prevent
people who in any way blur gender lines from
being discriminated against in the workplace or
while seeking housing or obtaining credit. More
than a dozen states, including
<http://www.courant.com/topic/us/california-PLGEO100100100000000.topic>California,

and
<http://www.courant.com/topic/us/rhode-island-PLGEO100104200000000.topic>Rhode
Island, have enacted similar laws.

Bills that bar discrimination based on gender
identity or expression have come up several times
over the past few years, but failed to win
passage. In 2007, both the judiciary committee
and the Senate approved such a bill, but it died
in the House of Representatives.

Connecticut has long prohibited discrimination
based on gender and sexual orientation. In fact,
the state was one of the first to outlaw bias against gays and lesbians.

Activists say the new proposal would extend those
protections to people whose appearance doesn't
mesh with gender stereotypes, such as women who
favor traditionally "masculine" clothing or
hairstyles, or men who appear effeminate.Such
individuals would be protected even if they don't
view themselves as transgendered.

The term transgender covers a wide variety of
people, including: transsexuals, who physically
alter their gender through surgery or other
means; cross-dressers; and intersex individuals
who are born with ambiguous genitalia.

There are no definitive statistics on the number
of transgender Americans. Estimates of the number
of transsexuals —” people who identify as, and
acquire the physical characteristics of, the
opposite sex — range from 0.25 percent to 1
percent of the U.S. popuulation, according to the
Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay,
lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights group.

"How many times do we discriminate against
someone based on how they look?" Liesegang asked.
"If a woman is a little more masculine, that
doesn't mean she has a right to be fired. ...
This isn't about special rights, it's about basic
human rights and making people comfortable with difference."

The measure has its critics. Kevin Witkos spoke
out against the bill in 2007, while he served in
the House. Witkos, a Republican from Canton, was
recently elected to the Senate and continues to have reservations.

In particular, Witkos expressed concerns about
the ramifications of the measure on the state's
public schools. "It impacts the learning
environment," he said. Witkos and other critics
would also like to see a "restroom except" to
prevent men from using a public women's bathroom, for instance.

"There are a lot of perverse people, I see it as
a policeman," said Witkos, a Canton police
sergeant. "They could use the provisions in this
bill to try and go into the opposite sex's
bathroom. That would have to be addressed in the
legislation or it will not get my support."

The measure does, however, have the backing of a
broad coalition, including the Anti-Defamation
League and Love Makes a Family, a coalition of gay rights organizations.

In some places, there has been tension between
gays and lesbians and the transgender community.

"Gays and lesbians are focused on sex
orientation," Liesegang said. "They say what does
transgender have to do with us? A lot of it is
just education. ... It doesn't mean everyone in
the gay and lesbian community gets it, but we're
working with them to realize it is important and
we're doing the same with the heterosexual community."

Love Makes a Family has long been a key part of
the coalition behind the gender identity bill.

"This is something that's been a priority for our
organization for several years now," said Carol
Buckheit, associate director of Love Makes a
Family. "Certainly, we're going to redouble our
efforts in support of this legislation."

Please contact your Senator and let your voice be heard on this bill.

Hello everyone!
Unbelievable: There is a dangerous bill before
our CT legislature regarding "discriminating"
against TRANSGENDERED (cross-dressing) people.

Senator Andrew McDonald SUPPORTS this bill, and
says he has received lots of calls in support of it!

PLEASE CONTACT HIS OFFICE (info below) ... SO HE
CAN RECEIVE LOTS OF CALLS AGAINST THIS BILL. (He
is a homosexual... don't know if the calls will
make a difference -- but, he needs to hear the outcry of the people.)

Feel free to forward this to everyone you know in Connecticut!

What's happening in CT is an abomination -- gay
marriage, transgender teachers....†

Karen,

Thanks for writing. I know Senator McDonald always wants to hear from
his constituents and I will make sure he sees your email. As for this
particular bill, it is my understanding that the Senator plans to
support it and has actually received many emails from constituents who
support it as well. I hope your difference of opinion on this matter
won't prohibit you from contacting him again in the future.

Subject: VOTE NO ON H.B. 6452

Senator McDonald:

Thank you for your hard work and many hours of serving the people of
Connecticut -- including ME!

H.B. 6452, An Act Concerning Discrimination, would prevent school
systems from disciplining or declining to hire cross-dressing teachers.

This is wrong -- no one should be forced to hire a cross-dressing
teacher. Men were made to be men; women were made to be women. We are
NOT to change our gender at will!

This bill would be used as a tool against anyone who does not agree with
the mainstreaming of "transgendered" behavior.

Please protect our children, our schools and our businesses by voting NO
on H.B. 6452.

Thank you for considering this. Again, Please Vote NO on H.B. 6452

Sincerely,
