Our pro-life leadership in the Senate attempted without success to reinstate the Kemp-Kasten provision, a pro-life rider, to the Omnibus bill; President Obama took additional steps to rescind the "conscience" clause; and the White House announced the President will sign an executive order on Monday lifting the ban on restrictions on federal funding of human embryonic stem cells. Meanwhile, dissent has arose within pro-life circles over Senator Brownback's endorsement of Gov. Sebelius for HHS Secretary. The good news is Senator Casey cast a pro-life vote; a sign of conversion or a safe vote to an amendment that didn't have the votes to pass. Time will tell.
