The helicopter was en route to Aberdeen from BP's Miller platform with 16 people on board. Grampian Police have regrettably confirmed that eight bodies have been recovered and eight people are still unaccounted for. BP is doing everything possible to help in the wake of this terrible tragedy. The team in Aberdeen will lead that effort and they have the wholehearted support of all of us from around the world. There will of course be a full investigation to understand what happened today. For now, on behalf of all of us at BP, my deepest sympathies go out to the families, friends and colleagues of those involved.
