This is not just some coincidence: even though the countries named are not all Sharia states (with the exceptions of Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Sudan), Sharia remains a cultural and legal presence to varying degrees in all majority-Muslim countries. The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom's annual report named Myanmar, North Korea, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, China, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. It recommended that the Obama administration designate them as "countries of particular concern" or CPC.
