Bill, I haven't heard from Jeff yet, could you ping him please?

Since we successfully upgraded Jira more than a week ago, I can provide an export file at any time.

Ok,

A bit more detail on the JIRA move.

I spent some time just now on IRC with Jeff Turner (Andrus, expect an
email or AIM ping from him) and he is going to set up a JIRA instance
for us @

issues.apache.org/cayenne

And if I understood correctly it will be a complete copy of the
current instance then he will be able to redirect URL's from the old
instance to the new one.

I expect that he will be pinging Andrus for a copy of the DB, then
will be setting up the new stuff, and then help with the redirect.

Ok, I was able to locally upgrade Jira from 2.4.1 to 3.3.2 (a version that Apache is running). I haven't tested it extensively, but so far it looks like perceived Jira upgrade problems were greatly exaggerated. And I can successfully create the backups now!

I'll upgrade ObjectStyle.org site to 3.3.2 early next week, so that we could do an export at any time.

*** JIRA

I just noticed that our (pretty old) Jira blows on exporting some issues, so I can't generate a valid export. I'll see what I can do (probably try an upgrade).

From looking over other projects JIRA requests the biggest problem seems to be that its hard to separate out JIRA issues for a single project during export. The instance @ objectstyle is all Cayenne right? If so I think this is simply a quick export/import. All we'd have to do is attach the export file to the infra JIRA ticket I think.

No, there are two projects - it also has WOProject (WebObjects Ant and Eclipse tools). How about this - we do an export of the entire thing, Infra imports both projects and then deletes WOProject on the ASF end? Jira allows to delete the entire project, so this shouldn't be an issue.

BTW, does the Infra also imports all user accounts? It seems logical as the issue workflow is attached to individual accounts. Just double-checking.
