Finally CVS is back online, so we can proceed with the release. I
suggest the release date of March 6 (in the AM EST). If this is not
enough time for everyone to check in, please send a note to the list.

Since our CLA situation is still unresolved, I guess we'll make a
release from SourceForge this time and spare ourselves from
Incubator release vote :-)
Since Beta means full API freeze of the core framework, now is the
last chance to add any new features or do any invasive refactoring.
Please be aware of that and please speak up if you have any such
changes in mind.
