found the problem and checked in a fix
the maven-archiver version @ 2.2-SNAPSHOT was depending on a snapshot
of plexus-archiver this is not available on the web (not sure where I
got mine, maybe from my settings.xml...) anyway the fix is to go to
2.2 of the archiver which depends on a version of plexus-archiver
that is available.
please check it out and let me know if it works

The build works
I was referring to this error - I am still getting it:

and we get an assembly of sorts so we could fix the nightly to use
m2 and then I think we'd have the bulk of what needs to be done
(i.e. nightly test runs).
I'll enable the builds once the error above is addressed (or should
we just disable "other" module in the root pom temporarily?) A
related question - how do we (optionally) turn on the HTML reports
for the unit tests? I.e. I want them to stay off by default, and
only enable them in the nightly build.
