During Bill Evans' event on Mt Pleasant Saturday night I recorded a faint and
distant series of four "hoots" that sounded and looked like Long-eared Owl.
Then last night and again tonight I recorded several series of "bill-clackings"
in the same area. At this point I feel secure in confirming the presence of the
owl there. It has been in the same location all three nights: about 100 ft in
on the gravel road that leads from the paved road to the Cornell Outdoor Rec
facility. Somewhere on or close to the edge of the woods.

All three nights there has also been a pair of Barred Owls dueting in the
distance, to the NW of the Long-eared.
