Late this afternoon (28 Sept) between showers at the Freese Road community weed
patch I found:

TURKEY VULTURE - 4 distant
RED-TAILED HAWK - 2 distant, 1 close
KILLDEER - 1 heard distantly, possibly over fields across Fall Creek to the east
MOURNING DOVE - 1 flushed from gardens
RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER - 1 heard
DOWNY WOODPECKER - 1 flew from gardens to enclosure to north
BLUE JAY - several overhead and in trees to east
AMERICAN CROW - ditto and in distance
WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH - 1 heard from trees to east
AMERICAN ROBIN - 1 flying east fairly high
EUROPEAN STARLING - several hundred flew over
CHIPPING SPARROW - 1 breeding plumage in south half, 1 non-breeding in north
half
FIELD SPARROW - 1 at southeast corner
SAVANNAH SPARROW - at least 6 in north-central area
SONG SPARROW - lots & various
LINCOLN'S SPARROW - 1 in north-central then (same?) at northeast area of
gardens. I think the differences I saw among several views were from changes
in posture, angle and lighting.
SWAMP SPARROW - 1 at north edge, 1 by northeast edge
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW - 1 by northeast edge
INDIGO BUNTING - at least 3, maybe more; also heard some song
AMERICAN GOLDFINCH - lots
