I biked back to Stewart Park in the late afternoon after the geese and gulls had returned. Kathy Strickland had asked about Cackling Geese, but I wasn't able to discern any. I did find a juvenile ICELAND GULL (my main goal) and a/the adult LESSER BLACK- BACKED GULL, as well as a GREAT BLUE HERON. The ice is a very nice width now, wide enough that the birds will use it but narrow enough that they are easy to scope. --Dave Nutter
