Apologies for a late report. I stopped briefly at Stewart Park a couple times
during a busy work day yesterday (Wed 16 Dec). In the morning I saw a flock of
18 TUNDRA SWANS on the water near the east end, 1 RUDDY DUCK off the large
pavilion, 1 AMERICAN BLACK DUCK, 1 PAUL ANDERSON (on land), plus the usuals.
In the late afternoon there were still swans just offshore, but they were more
dispersed and I can't say if the number was larger or smaller. I looked at
gulls instead and (re)found a/the juvenile ICELAND GULL and also had my first
encounter with a 2nd or 3rd year LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, not the adult I'd
seen recently.

At home today my yard has a SONG SPARROW, 4 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, 1 CAROLINA
WREN, 1 NORTHERN CARDINAL, 2 DOWNY WOODPECKERS, 1 TUFTED TITMOUSE. Actually
it's my next-door neighbor's feeders which bring them in mostly, but it's my
weeds where they take shelter.
