The ice edge at Stewart Park got piled up by the strong winds yesterday, so 
it's hard to see what's swimming close by or resting on the ice, but I saw a 
few neat birds during lulls in business today (30 December). 

TUNDRA SWAN - 12 just off ice off Stewart Park this afternoon
Canada Goose
Hybrid Canada x domestic Graylag - 1, the resident, off East Shore
GADWALL - 3 separate pairs, each well out in lake from East Shore 
American Black Duck
Mallard
Redhead - west of breakwater
CANVASBACK - some in the morning with Redheads
LESSER SCAUP - 1 female off Stewart Park 
Common Goldeneye
LONG-TAILED DUCK - 1 off Stewart Park
Common Merganser 
HOODED MERGANSER - 1 
Ring-billed Gull
Herring Gull
LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL - 1 adult on ice, east end Stewart Park
Great Black-backed Gull
