Susan Danskin, Judy Thoroughman and I spent much of today birding around the 
Town of Dryden.  Highlights included:

Field & pond southeast of NYS 38 & George Road:
GREEN-WINGED TEAL several pairs
RING-NECKED DUCK 
PIED-BILLED GREBE 1
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK landed near barn to northeast
KILLDEER 1 seen, 1 heard 
BELTED KINGFISHER 1 female
COMMON RAVEN circled over as we left
EASTERN MEADOWLARK 1 singing

Schug Trail west & east of Springhouse Road:
EASTERN PHOEBE 1
SWAMP SPARROW 1
FOX  SPARROW 2 
BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD 2

Schug Trail northwest & southeast of East Lake Road:
WOOD DUCK 3M & 2F flying, later 1 pair each in separate locations
GREAT BLUE HERON atop tripod nest platform at southeast end of Dryden Lake
FOX SPARROW 1 near south end of trail

Atop Mount Pleasant for awhile in the midafternoon we saw no convincing 
migration but
TURKEY VULTURE 3 
RED-TAILED HAWK several, including dramatic stoops
AMERICAN KESTREL 1 male along road near observatory
KILLDEER 1 flyby
HORNED LARK several in fields

Freese Road pond
BLUE-WINGED TEAL 1M,1F
