Greetings, We had 3 Black-crowned Night-herons as fly-overs last evening on Gravel Road in Seneca Falls. They were flying in the direction of the Refuge.
Also of note, my daughter noticed an Osprey carrying a stick flying low over our house this morning. When I got out, it had returned and we watched it break off a branch from a tree in our front yard and carry it to a large power pole up the road. This would be a new nest and is just south of 318 on Gravel Road. Finally, I can report new green growth along the wildlife drive ALREADY in the black burned areas. There was also a controlled burn (warm season grasses) on Route 89 between the Montezuma Winery and "Goose Haven". That also is greening up nicely. -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html 3) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
