My husband and I will be in Ithaca three full days, Oct. 7, 8,
and 9. We'd like to go birding at least once with a local person.
(We'll have a car; we'd pay for gas if we go in yours.) We
are active, experienced birders, and we've birded on the east
coast a few times. We enjoy a day with a good variety. A
few lifers would be great. (Connecticut Warbler would be one,
but I'm guessing it's not likely.)
I've read about the Hawthorn Orchard and the Ithaca
Cemetery. Are they good in the fall?
We'll be at a family event in Fair Haven (on Lake Ontario)
before Ithaca. Are there good spots close by?
We plan to stop at Montezuma NWR when we head south from
Fair Haven.
I'm including a few more potential life birds below. We will
appreciate any suggestions about them in particular and good
birding places in general.
Many thanks.
