This morning a muscular juvenile Goshawk with a full crop flew low over "Jennings Pond" (Danby) and passed over Bald Hill Rd. within 150-ft of my daughter and me while we were sitting quietly watching the pond. When I first saw the large bird approaching head on from across the pond initial impression was American Bittern!
