Onondaga County
------------

1/18: The HARLEQUIN DUCK was seen and continued to be seen up to 1/23 at
the Longbranch Road location near the one lane bridge west of Liverpool. After
the cold snap last night, however, the open water has frozen over and all the
waterfowl has left. The best bet for relocating this bird is either the outlet
of Nine Mile Creek in Lakeland which is accessible or the outlet of Onondaga
Creek near Carousel Mall which is not due to railroad tracks. The inner harbor
is another possibility if it, too, does not freeze over. Also on the 18th. an
ICELAND GULL was seen in the same location.
1/19: A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER and possibly two continues to be seen on
Connors Road just west of Rt. 31 in the Town of Van Buren.
1/20: A wintering GRAY CATBIRD was seen on Shaap Road off of Peru Road in
the Town of Elbridge.
1/21: A probable female MERLIN was seen in Baldwinsville below the dam on
the Seneca River. A HOARY REDPOLL continues with a large flock of Commons at
the
Beaver Lake Nature Center west of Baldwinsville.
1/22: 18 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at the Cortland County line on
Shakham
Road. The flock had grown to 37 on the 23rd.

1/23: A YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was relocated on Nash Road in Elbridge
after a two month absence. The number of BALD EAGLES congragating at the south
end of Onondaga Lake has grown to 13.

Madison County
------------

1/19: A NORTHERN SHRIKE continues to hunt at a feeder in Erieville.

Jefferson County
-------------

1/22: The TOWNSEND’S SOLITAIRE was again seen on State Park Road just off
of Co. Rt. 57 on Point Peninsula.
