I just returned from a swing around the lake, to take some site photographs and scout for this weekend's SFO trips. There were a few interesting birds.

Myers: 2 Barn Swallows among 25 Tree Swallows

Aurora Bay (Wells College Boathouse): a first year male Black Scoter; 29 Horned Grebes, 11 Long-tailed Ducks

MNWR Visitor's Center: Purple Martin atop the martin house; two Dunlin along the wildlife drive

Morgan Road: flyover Greater Yellowlegs

Marten's Tract: I flushed both an American Bittern and a Wilson's Snipe at the end of the path that leads east from the parking lot.

Railroad Road: one Virginia Rail; a pair of Trumpeter Swans

Tschache Pool: two Lesser Black-backed Gulls remain; no sign of the Glaucous Gull from last weekend

Dean's Cove: 27 Long-tailed Ducks! (vocalizing); 19 Horned Grebes - likely some of the 29 seen earlier from Aurora
