*I've also had 2-3 female Rose-breasted Grosbeaks at my feeders on and off this past week. At about 1:15 pm today, I was happily surprised by a male and two female Rose-breasted Grosbeaks at one of the black-oil sunflower seed feeders. Just before 2 pm, two more male Grosbeaks joined them and are all still here at 5:30 pm. It's such a treat having them singing in the yard. As I write, there are also two male Cardinals, three Blue Jays, a Downy and two Red-bellied Woodpeckers, three Song and three White-throated Sparrows, a handful each of Juncos and Chickadees, several Robins, three male and two female House Finches, and over 40 Goldfinch, making a rainbow of feathers with my garden of blooming daffodils, red and yellow fritillaria, and purple azaleas as a backdrop—such a lovely sight and chorus. I feel safe to finally pronounce, spring is here in NE Ithaca at long last.* * * *Candace Cornell* * * *[image: u14466044.jpg] * *** * On Sun, May 1, 2011 at 5:20 PM, Carol Keeler <[email protected]> wrote:
