1:45pm I saw a couple of BRANT descending behind the trees and verified 2 on the lawn north of the mouth of Treman Marina. I immediately sent out the text message, before trying for a better look so as not to scare them. Moments later I realized that there were 4 all told, but 2 had been behind a tree for me. They were initially a bit wary, with the adults, especially the larger presumed male standing very tall on the lookout. The 2 young, on the other hand, were hungry and immediately started grazing.
3:20pm Ann Mitchell reports that the BRANT family has just hopped into Cayuga Inlet, youngsters first, but weren't particularly going anywhere.
