Just a few notes around Montezuma, the Greater White-fronted Goose and
Snow/Canada (Scanada?) Hybrid are still at the Main Pool. The hybrid flew out
with a flock about 8 AM, but returned around noon. Still no sign of the Red
Phalarope at Shorebird Flats (area between photo blind and sharp curve). An
Imm. BC Night-heron has been hanging out in the little drainage channel on the
west end of Benning Marsh (right side of auto route) just before the Thruway
section. The Avocet was still at Puddler's Marsh, near the northeast corner and
a few Great Egrets are still present. A lot (+500) Pintail were flying over
Tschache Pool in the 20-30 minutes while I was there. Also saw my first Ruddy
Ducks for the season in the Main Pool Saturday morning.
