I was at the Montezuma visitor center this afternoon before the rain and saw no
Wilson's Phalaropes. During and after the rain I visited various sites,
eventually meeting Dave Wheeler at Mays. He said he'd seen the phalaropes
during and after the rain and only an hour previous to our meeting. I returned
to the visitor center but did not find them. Moral: Birds are flighty.
