This afternoon (Sunday 11 Dec) on our way to not seeing the long-gone White-winged Crossbills at Summerhill, Ann Mitchell & I stopped by the Cornell compost facility off Stevenson Rd, where Nate Senner said he saw the juvenile Thayer's Gull asleep behind a Herring Gull, but not readily identifiable from our vantage. The highlight for us was the Turkey Vulture with all its left primaries white and its outermost right primary also white. It was flying low over the compost facility as were several normal Turkey Vultures. There were also several of them on the piles, but we did not see the odd one on the ground.
