Tim and I checked a few places around the lake yesterday, mostly seeing what has already been reported. However, we did find large flocks of Snow Geese on the lake. From the bluffs on Lake Road in Aurora, we spotted a huge, white mass near the opposite side of the lake that we assumed were Snow Geese. Later, we spotted two flocks from Dean's Cove. One of the flocks was in the air, which at that moment was foggy with light snow, making the geese look like giant, swirling snowflakes. One of the flocks was also visible from Rt. 89 just north of Romulus.

In Mud Lock, we saw a large, dark mass of ducks in bad light. All the ducks I could make out were Gadwall, but I could only identify a dozen or so. The rest were backlit and pretty far. None were visible from Harris Park, just south of Mud Lock, though.

We also found 4 Horned Grebes near the boathouse in Aurora and three Red-breasted Mergansers in Sheldrake.
