Our daughter, Becky Sewell, again took a friend to Roch. today. She had Lisa
call about 40 minutes ago on their way west to say she had seen the SNOWY in
the same place but a bit lower in the tree than yesterday. Becky & Lisa plan to
get off the Thruway on their return trip to try to get closer to the owl by the
log house.

I returned today to try to find the owner of the Frontenac Harbor to ask
permission to walk there to look for birds. Didn't find anyone.
In my 2.10.12 post I called it Frontenac Marine. Sorry. Senior moment!

Today at Frontenac Park was a raft of perhaps 500 redheads. At the outlet
stream from Factory St. pond were well over 100 mallards in the shallows. Only
once in our 20 winters here have I seen the lake level this low. Normally we
would have a lot of snow melt & the mid-winter rains to keep it higher.

Factory St. pond has been devoid of feathers for the past wk. with the
exception of one gadwall last wk.. No screechie. Buffles & redheads are on Mill
pond with an occasional gadwall. Didn't have time to go north to look for the
many swans & large rafts of ducks seen last wk.. Canadas & snows are flying in
every direction so maybe late goose season has started & that's why so many
mallards are here.

I just saw about a doz. DE Juncoes under the feeders & in the grass around the
garden. Mocker (mocking bird) is defending his territory. We've had the 7
member crow family all winter, checking to see what goodies I throw on the
garden.
