About 2:40pm I got a call from Jerry Lazarczyk saying he and Doug Beattie had briefly seen a Western Grebe at 2pm near the red lighthouse close to a Horned Grebe, but they were giving up on refinding it. I did it get a chance to look thoroughly because I was working, but a brief limited scan from the taxi a half hour later did not show me any grebes. I think it's inconclusive whether there are 3 and our southern bird was playing its usual hide and seek or whether it flew north and joined another bird for a total of 2.
