Yesterday as I was walking by Bradfield Hall, Cornell campus, about 5pm, I saw
a bird circling over the athletic fields that I thought might be a peregrine
falcon. I followed its flight until it landed at the top of the stair tower on
the south side of Bradfield. I then noticed another bird of similar size
perched at the top of the column of windows on the south side. By the time I
walked to my car and drove back to Bradfield with my binos, only the one (first
sighted) bird was still in sight and I confirmed it was a peregrine. I watched
if for about 10 minutes, but then had to leave since I was already running
late. I didn't notice either of them this morning when I arrived, though I had
seen a bird on Monday circle around the north side of Bradfield that I thought
might have been a peregrine.

I wonder if they are looking for a nest site? Can they coexist with the red
tails that are building a nest in the light pole by the athletic fields across
the street?
