Wednesday morning (Apr 18)  at about 7:25 as I drove south from Stewart Park I saw an OSPREY fly over the road going upstream along Fall Creek. Maybe it belongs to the platform at Treman Marine Park. Maybe it went off to feed at Beebe Lake. Or maybe it's from Portland Point. I once saw an Osprey carry a fish high above the east side of Cayuga Lake from Ithaca to about Portland Point, where I lost view of it.

On Tuesday I was finally able to confirm that the BALD EAGLE nest in Ulysses near the Glenwood Pines is active for (at least) a third year. I had been worried that nearby logging and house-building may have deterred them but in fact it was just my own ability to see that was the problem Finally I was barely able to discern the head of an incubating adult through obscuring branches.
