Stewart Park was fairly uneventful this morning, with very few Cave Swallows to be found (many are being seen up on Lake Ontario right now though, so keep an eye out!) The juvenile Black-crowned Night-Heron continues to give great looks at the swan pen, and a Merlin sat in a snag on the west side of the swan pen for a while. Waterfowl diversity is a bit down, but Ruddy Duck numbers continue to be impressive (30 today, mostly towards the east end). Wood Ducks are still showing well in the lagoon along the entrance road, with at least 13 today. Otherwise pretty quiet and wet. Chris and Jeff reported that a Surf Scoter was pretty much the only bird of interest at Myers this morning.
