Around 2 PM Sat. 11/24 at Towpath Rd., Knox Marcellus Marsh in Montezuma NWR,
in with the hundreds of Canada Geese, I saw a couple hundred SWANS.
Two that were much closer to me were TRUMPETER SWANS; all the others were far
away and though I could see them fairly well in my scope, most their heads were
in the water or under their wings in the windy snow squalls that were blowing
through, and being no expert at swan ID, I could not say whether they were
Trumpeter or Tundra.
There were a few SNOW GEESE with the groups, too.

Along Wildlife Drive and Benning Marsh in Montezuma, in with the CA Geese, were
some GADWALLS, GREEN WINGED TEALS, NO. SHOVELERS, MALLARDS, GREATER BLACK
BACKED & HERRING GULLS. One mature BALD EAGLE flew overhead and another sat in
a tree.

Two mature BALD EAGLES sat in the southern-most trees near the eagle nest at
Mud Lock at the north end of Cayuga Lake.

The Mill Pond on Rt. 90 in Union Springs hosted 41GADWALLS, 4 GREEN WINGED
TEALS, & 10 MALLARDS. The pond on Factory St. had 12 GADWALLS, but no Screech
Owl visible. By then it was getting dark and snowing again.

Good snowy birding,
Donna
