I just had a beautiful Cooper's Hawk land just outside my window and scare
all the juncos, jays, cardinals, chickadees, and redpolls away. She, as it
was very large adult, was remarkably handsome against the white snow and
walked around under the feeder a bit. After two minutes of excellent
viewing, it flew off. Exactly three minutes later, and after much chickadee
chirping from the bushes, the usual customers returned to feed. What a nice
afternoon treat!
