I waited at the Osprey platform for two hours today, from about noon until after two, and only saw one individual fly by the nest a few times. This is the longest period during which I have not seen the ospreys on their nest in the seven days I have been watching them.
Salt Point was loaded with cars, people, and dogs the entire time I waited. At one point I counted nine parked cars and two motorcycles along the shore within 200 feet of the platforms, with radios blaring, and three cars driving past. What a change from the weekdays when I am alone or there is one other car at the point. I hope to return later and find them on tending their nest.
