Ravens seem to continue in the yard and neighboring area. A neighboring squirrel died in a car accident and the ravens are waiting for the meal. Because the squirrel was in the middle of the road, I moved it into my neighbors yard, (no one lives there it is some cult group property). I waited for ravens to return to take some video. But they saw me and refused to be there anywhere near. I hid behind trees, when American Crows discovered the squirrel. I did not want the squirrel to be their dinner (sorry Anne) so moved out of the tree Am. Crows vanished. Before they did so I got a nice recording of American Crows squabbling as there were no cars for a few seconds. Almost around that time the raven family circled and one parent flew right over my head belching out a loud craww that I could record and luckily no cars at that time.
Right now the ravens flew over to Strawberry circle and that is somewhere they seem have nested in Northeast direction. It was great to watch them! So I thought may be wood-chuck was making this call as she and her babies were feeding on clover in the backyard. Then the calls got loud and seem to be coming from the front yard. So I opened the door to see a young raven was begging from the maple in front of the house. Seeing me he flew away. But then I heard the second one which was also in the yard on another tree and was also begging. May be a parent was nearby. I saw one adult flying across yesterday evening. So it looks like East Hill ravens have successfully bred or at least have fledglings!
