Today Linda Clougherty and birded the area for about 1 and 1/2 hours. The Wilson Trail was quiet, but at the beginning of it we had good looks at 2 Philadelphia Vireos chasing each other around in a Sycamore tree. I heard a Yellow Warbler calling. Other than the usual birds, we heard a Rose-breasted Grosbeak around the same area. Traveling a little further, we had great looks at a Scarlet Tanager. Linda found it. We saw Eastern Phoebes. We sort of saw an Eastern Towee and I heard a Red-eyed Vireo. There were at least 2 Kingfishers present.
On the Dryden side, it was quiet except for a Common Yellow-throat. We walked the power line trail and took the first right down a wooded path. Eventually, we heard more Chickadees. I got a fleeting glance at a young Mourning Warbler (Sorry Kevin, no camera) and 3 Warbling Vireos chasing each other. The last bird we saw was an Eastern Kingbird. We were there between 9:30 and 11:00. Lunch time might have been better.
